Outage information a click away
Improving the experience for customers online
Recent improvements to Powerco’s website have made it easier for our customers to find information about power outages.
Previously, customers visiting our homepage had to make several clicks to access information about interruptions to their power supply.
Powerco Customer and Communications Strategy Manager Oliver Vincent says customers should be able to find the information they want quickly and easily when they need it.
“We know from our analytics that information about outages is a key driver for people to visit our website, which is why it should readily accessible.”
Thanks to a new pop-up on its homepage, a single click is all it takes to access our outage map, report a power outage, view upcoming planned outages, and find emergency contact numbers.
Enhancing the layout and functionality of our planned power outages webpage, allows customers to search their address or reference number to bring up details of upcoming or past planned outages. It also provides visibility of the status of work, so if a job has been cancelled because of poor weather, customers will be able to see what date it has been rescheduled for.
“Within a week of the improvements going live, data showed that our customers were finding the information they wanted much faster. For us, it’s all about providing a better experience for our customers and improving the visibility of what’s happening on our network is an important part of this,” Oliver Vincent says.
